Mob boss was arrested while playing Godfather on xbox

You don't read news like this everyday! Does art imitate life or does life imitate art? Just ask Mr Gerlandino Messina that got arrested last week while he was playing The Godfather videogame on his xbox. Mr. Messina incidentally is Cosa Nostra's no 2 guy, wanted for eeeh well... being a mobster. You know... killing, drug dealing, blackmailing... that sort of thing.

Messina was wanted since 1999 and for the past years he was in various hideouts around Italy. Besides being arrested while playing the game, the police declared that they had found the game in his hideouts as well! Didn't this guy need a vacation from being a wanted mobster and he was playing the game on his spare time as well? I don't know. Why wouln't he play something with fluffy animals? Ah well...

PETA Rediculous WoW Campaign

In stupid news, people with nothing better to do with their lives posted in the PETA blog in order to help create a movement to stop killing seals in World of Warcraft for digital fur. I never liked these people(well except the nude campaigns that is) but now I find them even more ridiculous now.

Apparently they are going to put some "evil" horde characters killing the seals and people joining the "fight" are going to stop them. I cannot believe what i am typing now....

From thir post
That's right, gamers, get ready: This Saturday, World of Warcraft (WoW) players will have the opportunity to combat a team of four Horde seal killers. We need your help to stop them from bashing in the heads of any more seals!

Thrall refused to ban the slaughter of seals, despite multiple requests from the Alliance to do so, because Orgrimmar stands to make a large profit from the fur.

Activists from across the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor are banding together to put a stop to the atrocious seal slaughter. Anyone who slaughters baby seals for their fur must surely be in service to the evil Lich King.

Guy gets USB Prosthetic Storage finger

Ok, this is very weird and it can very well be a scum. So this guy supposedly had an accident and then at the surgery the doctor proposed that he implants a usb flash disc to replace his fingertip.

His Flickr photostream is here. Did I mention that this guy is Finnish. These Scandinavian guys are nuts! Now he is supposed to be holding the Billix Linux distro in on his fingertips. Sounds cool but looks creepy.

Stupidest computer related advertisement ever

I was surfing for online back up services, the other day, when my eyes, all by themselves, jumped from reading the specs of a product, to what is probably an understatement of trying to fool people with limited computer knowledge, to buy your crap. This was a long sentence but I simply could not hold it inside anymore....

From this horrendously stupid advertisement we learn that playing games crashes computer hard drives. Look at the miserable chubby bastard with his, I am the son of this guy, hood. Both looking happy that daddy saved his precious files....

Turkish Mayor is suing Batman

batmanMayor of Batman, a town in Southeast Turkey is suing the producers of Batman Movies because as he says, they used the Batman name without written permission. Mayor said
There is only one Batman in this world. The American producers used the name of our region without asking us first.
turkey
Mayor said that he will file the lawsuit in an American court if he has to. Maybe turkeys should sue Turkey for using their species name without written permission.

Batman is the biggest oil producing town in Turkey that holds the sad record for the most suicides, especially among women, and the most honour crimes. Some records you have there Mayor. Keep up the good work! What can I say, instead of providing for the town's people the mayor is pulling ridiculous publicity stunts.

Inmate sues Blizzard for identity theft

In what can only be described as yet another boggy legal dispute, between a guy with nothing to loose and a big company, an inmate sued Blizzard for identity theft. The guy accuses Blizzard for his addiction and for the fact that he lost touch with the real word (Isn't this a good thing...? I mean the guy is in prison).

Jonathan Lee Riches is reported to have filled many motions against companies excepting compensation as well against other 'entities' that are somewhat difficult to bring to trial such as "Adolf Hitler's National Socialist Party" and the "13 tribes of Isreal". If you can read his handwriting here is the hand written motion in pdf format.

Marriage proposal through a game hack

Throughout the history man invented many different ways to ask a woman to marry him. Others jump off planes, others get to their knees, other do it in a sports matches while others find more novel ways. The weirdest and definitely the most skillful and geeky way though took place a few days ago.

A guy hacked the game his girlfriend was playing and added a whole new level. In that level his soon to be wife met a knight who confessed his love to her and proposed (what?). I am sure she did not see this coming! Talk about weird stuff. For the history the proposal was made using Chrono Trigger the old SNES classic rpg game. One thing that puzzles me though is how the hell his girlfriend was playing that game. Anyways, kudos to the man for the novelty the skill and the effort. If you are curious about what actually happened in that specific game level, watch the video.

AC/DC videoclip in Excel speadsheet

Ok, this is bizarre but cool. It actually is the coolest thing I saw today. After ASCII art, ASCII video decoders, and Excel games it is time for video through Excel. Yes that's right, video through Excel. Not only that though, it is an AC/DC music Excel video clip! Do not expect some hi def stuff though. It is more like moving ASCII art using spreadsheet cells.

You can download the excel file from here and play it. It will only work on Microsoft Office though, so it will not play in OpenOffice or, NeoOffice or equivalent. It also needs macros to be enabled.

If you are unable to play it you can watch the video from here:

Enjoy your low def rock 'n roll spreadsheet music video!

Japanese Website offers virtual wife to nag you loose weight

After pokemon, a plumber eating mushrooms, cuddling robots and who knows what other weird stuff, the Japanese have done it again. A weight-loss company has created a website that offers many different virtual wives to choose from. They vary in shapes and personality but all have one thing in common they will email you to encourage you to loose wait until you are sick of them.

Signing up to the service you provide information about yourself, your eating habits, your weight-losing goals, vitals etc. Then the nagging starts every day, all day. The service is free of charge but the paying customers get to choose from different wives. Totally ridiculous!
