Portal 2 available for pre-order

Valve announced today that Portal 2 is available for pre-order. Hooray! The game will be available sometime in April. I know a couple of people that by reading this will probably rush to open the Champaign bottles. Get ready to re-visit the Aperture science labs and meet your "old friend" Glados. The game will feature longer and more engrossing single player campaign, new puzzles and cooperative gameplay. The steam store updated earlier and the price( with a 10% discount for the pre-order) is 34,19 euros and includes the original portal game. If you own it already you can gift it to a friend.

Since the pre-order launch day coincided with the florists and chocolate makers Christmas (valentines day), Valve released a very funny small video to remind us of the new cooperative play mode. Enjoy the video.

Portal 2 delayed.

Who didn't see this coming? Here is the very funny press release from Valve:

VALVE ANNOUNCES SHORTEST DELAY IN VALVE HISTORY

Valve today announced that Portal 2 — the sequel to the ground-breaking title that won over 30 game of the year awards, despite missing its original ship date — will now be available the week of April 18th, 2011. This two month slip not only marks the shortest delay in Valve’s proud tradition of delays, it represents the approaching convergence of Valve Time and Real Time. Though this convergence spells doom for humanity, it will not affect the new Portal 2 release date.

Good to know that in our last hours on this planet, we will still be able to play Portal 2.

Portal 2 co-op trailer

Valve released a trailer for the co-op part of Portal 2 in which two players will be controling 2 robots and have to work together to complete each level. I'll leave the trailer speak for itself but I will say one thing: the game cannot come soon enough!

Portal 2 Teaser trailer (update: now with gameplay video!)

One of our very favourite games here on Allround geek is Portal. While we've spent many hours getting the Steam achievements for the advanced chambers and the challenges, the game itself is quite small and leaves you hungry for more levels.

So when Portal 2 was announced we couldn't be happier. Unfortunately while the game was initially scheduled for a late 2010 release, it has been pushed back to 2011. Until then you can get a little taste by watching the teaser trailer for the game:

Half-life 2 Fan-made videos

Lately a couple of of videos sprung on the Internet that caused a lot of speculation and controversy over their creation. There were rumours as to the existence of Half--Life 2: Episode 3 announcement or sudden release and these videos just fueled the discussion. Overall they are very well made but are only fan-made videos after all. Valve denied everything. Enjoy them...
