This December marks 10 years after the release of The Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring.

10 years.

I feel old. But this trailer for the first of the two Hobbit movies (titled An Unexpected Journey and There And Back Again) is just the thing to make me feel young again. Get a small taste of what our return to Middle Earth will feel like one year from now.

The official trailer for the final Harry Potter film has hit the web and what a trailer it is! The scope of the last entry in the series looks epic with massive battles that place the characters in mortal danger. It gave me goosebumps!

EDIT: So apparently this isn't an official trailer. It is a fanmade trailer, made with footage from the extras of the dvd release of Deathly Hallows: Part I. Well it fooled me. Good job, guy who edited this. I am sure an official trailer can't be far along. July is getting close.


A teaser trailer for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 has been released. You can watch it below in a shitty embed while we wait for a glorious quicktime HD version to be uploaded.

Some people are very cynical towards the Harry Potter series. To those people I have only this to say: You are dead inside!

I for one am really excited to watch the final chapter of this tale. What started out as a kid's film has evolved into a cinematic phenomenon. I can't wait for July to come, so I can do another Harry Potter marathon week and then go to the local cinema and watch the end of this story.

The rise of the teaser trailer for THE RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.

What a stupid title! Rise of the Apes was fine (and even Caesar before that) but I guess the marketing department decided that not having "planet" in the title would make it impossible for people to associate this film with the "Planet of the Apes" franchise (as Bill Hicks would say, if you work in advertising go home and kill yourself).

Anyway, enough about the stupid title. The teaser trailer was released today after a live event WETA DIGITAL did last night to talk about how they plan to create the apes in the film (you can watch part of it here).

Will Battle: Los Angeles be a good alien invasion film?

It's been a while since I watched a good alien invasion film. Will Battle: Los Angeles deliver? On a visual level it looks great. If it can match that on an emotional and story level then we may be in for a treat.

The Tree of Life Trailer

Not too many words are needed to recommend watching the trailer for Terrence Malick's new feature, The Tree of Life. I won't be giving a YouTube link, as that would disservice the optical fury of the film, which is best seen in HD here. This is probably my most anticipated movie of 2011, and I don't see that changing any time soon.

The trailer for Duncan Jones' SOURCE CODE is released.

After an impressive debut with Moon, Duncan Jones has certainly earned the respect of science fiction fans.His second film, Source Code, looks like it's going to be another hit for the young director, further establishing him as one of the directors to pay attention to.

From the trailer, Source Code looks like a mix of 12 Monkeys, Groundhog day and The Matrix! Those are very interesting ingredients and I think Duncan Jones has the talent to make something very special out of them.

"Cowboys & Aliens" trailer released

When you first hear about a movie called Cowboys & Aliens you will probably laugh and dismiss it as one of those b-movies with the ridiculous titles (eg Mega Shark VS Giant Octapus, etc). Then someone mentions that Jon Favreau, director of the Iron Man films, is sitting in the director's chair and maybe your interest in the film will pick up a bit. You go to imdb to look at the cast and you are surprised by the names you read. Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, Sam Rockwell, Olivia Wilde, Clancy Brown and Keith Carradine.

Nice, you think to yourself! Let's check out the crew too.

What's that? Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard are executive producers? Matthew Libatique (Darren Aronofsky's DP in all his films except The Wrestler) is the film's cinematographer?

Wow! This might turn out good!

And then the teaser trailer hits the web and dispells all doubt you might have had about the film with the silly title.

Portal 2 co-op trailer

Valve released a trailer for the co-op part of Portal 2 in which two players will be controling 2 robots and have to work together to complete each level. I'll leave the trailer speak for itself but I will say one thing: the game cannot come soon enough!

Black Swan Trailer

I don't usually post trailer links, but the Black Swan trailer that was just posted online is one of the best I've seen for quite some time. Aronofsky's obviously unable to produce a bad film, but this one seems so much more - a cross breed between a psychological drama and a horror movie, something that was missing from cinema for quite some time (now that Cronenberg's moved on). The swan transformation (?) seems deeply unsettling and Natalie Portman looks ravishing as always, but a bit more this time. Simply amazing. "Sucker Punch" trailer is nuts!

Zack Snyder, director of 300 and Watchmen, is one of the best visual filmmakers working today. Sucker Punch is his first movie based on an original script he wrote, and it looks absolutely crazy!

The first trailer for the film is packed with crazy, awesome imagery.
You name it, Sucker Punch has it: hot chicks, machine guns, katanas, samurai, nazis, dragons, zeppelins, bi-planes, mech robots and more all mixed in an incredible visual cocktail.

If the story is good this will be a very fun film to watch. Enjoy the trailer below or go over to Apple for the glorious quicktime HD.

Machete red band trailer brings on the gore!

A new red band trailer has been released for Machete, Robert Rodriguez's new film. This is going to be one fun movie to watch with a bunch of friends and a case of beers!

"TRON: Legacy" theatrical trailer is super cool!

Amazing! Truly amazing!

That's how I would describe the new TRON: Legacy trailer that got released just minutes ago. The visuals are out of this world and the action seems incredible. Not to mention the scenes with The Dude looking like he did in the Starman era!

Head over at Yahoo! Movies and watch it in the biggest HD screen you can find. Empire magazine also has a report on the comic con panel for the film which you can read here.

Oliver Stone's "South of the Border"

"South of the Border" is a new documentary by Oliver Stone that explores the misperception of South American countries by the western media. Stone visits five countries and has conversations with the Presidents of seven countries: Hugo Chávez (Venezuela), Evo Morales (Bolivia), Lula da Silva (Brazil), Cristina Kirchner and her husband and ex-President Nėstor Kirchner (Argentina), Fernando Lugo (Paraguay), Rafael Correa (Ecuador), and Raúl Castro (Cuba).

Portal 2 Teaser trailer (update: now with gameplay video!)

One of our very favourite games here on Allround geek is Portal. While we've spent many hours getting the Steam achievements for the advanced chambers and the challenges, the game itself is quite small and leaves you hungry for more levels.

So when Portal 2 was announced we couldn't be happier. Unfortunately while the game was initially scheduled for a late 2010 release, it has been pushed back to 2011. Until then you can get a little taste by watching the teaser trailer for the game:

Second Scott Pilgrim trailer on line

Today the facebook page of the film Scott Pilgrim VS. The World reached 100,000 fans and they released the second theatrical trailer for the film which is even more awesome than the first one!

A film based on a comic, filled with video game references and directed by one of the geekiest directors of all time. Yup. I'm gonna need to see that!

The new Inception trailer will blow your mind!

If you haven't already, go and watch the teaser and the first trailer for Inception. Then watch the third trailer which got released today (embedded below). Be warned though that you will have to scrape bits of your brain from the walls afterwards because it will blow you mind!

This time the trailer explains a little more about the plot of the film and we get to see most of the cast which includes Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard, Cillian Murphy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the great Michael Caine.


I have no doubt that Christopher Nolan will once again prove that he is a master of his craft and one of the best directors working today.

New trailer for MACHETE! (Update: now in 720p!)

The fake trailer that became a real movie!

When Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez decided to make Grindhouse, they wanted to give audiences the full experience of being in a grindhouse cinema playing a double feature. To that end, they approached various directors and asked them to make a fake trailer to be included in the break between Death Proof and Planet Terror. The results were very interesting.

Rodriguez's own entry was MACHETE and it was so popular that soon after it was decided that it was going to be turned into a real film! And what a film it will be! It has one of the craziest casts ever! Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro(!), Steven Seagal(!!), Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan(!!!), Cheech Marin, Rose McGowan and more.


A new trailer for the actual movie was just released at Ain't It Cool News and it is all kinds of awesome! You can also watch the original fake trailer embedded below. (UPDATE: download it in 720p from here)
